Laboratory Technician

Permanent position: Global plastics packaging company is seeking a Lab Tech for their Ashland location. This position reports to the Lab Manager and is responsible for supporting the day to day requirements for new product &application development activities for fitments and plastic components. Experience with lab equipment like DSC and FTIR preferred. Excellent growth opportunities, benefits, stability.

Responsibilities for the Laboratory Technician

  • Work with all R&D Technicians in duties necessary to carryout organizing, testing, and gathering data on fitments and bags samples.

  • Follow specific testing protocols as outlined by standards or Lab Manager.

  • Continuously demonstrate safe and environmentally friendly work practices. Maintain the lab facility in a safe and orderly condition.

  • Work with all R&D Technicians in maintaining supplies necessary for bag and fitment sampling.

  • Safely operate testing equipment for the purposes of generating data to characterize the performance of fitment or bag sample against benchmarks whether they'd be Specifications or comparative analysis.

  • Generate raw data electronically as directed by the Lab Manager.

Requirements for the Laboratory Technician

  • Minimum high school diploma.

  • Experience with lab equipment like DSC and FTIR machine and experimental test methods preferred.

  • Previous work experiences in a lab environment.

  • Dependable, conscientious worker with aptitude toward being detail oriented.

  • Good communications skills, both oral and written.

  • Capable of using computers to generate reports using MS Excel, Word, etc.

  • A strong team player. A positive attitude and a willingness to self-manage and bring a creative approach to the work.
