Supplier Quality Engineer

Contract position: A Supplier Quality Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization in the Sandy Springs. The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for analyzing supplier quality data, developing supplier score cards, conducting site audits, and working with sourcing teams to determine best practices. Qualified candidates must have a BS in Engineering, and 2+ years' as a quality engineer, optimally with a focus on Supplier Quality. This position may be slated as a contract-to-direct or direct hire position, and when direct candidates can anticipate traveling 25% of the to suppliers as well as Mexico. Our client is only seeking local talent at this time.

Responsibilities for the Supplier Quality Engineer

  • Work with sourcing team to ensure supplier performance; develop appropriate and timely corrective action plans

  • Develop root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of any non‐conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems

  • Conduct and create supplier development programs

  • Maintain a supplier audit schedule and conduct audits to drive process standardization and continuous improvement

  • Lead supplier performance and cost improvement projects

Requirements for the Supplier Quality Engineer

  • BS degree in engineering

  • 2+ years' as a quality engineer, optimally with a focus on supplier quality

  • ISO 9001 experience is preferred

  • Prior experience with 8D, Minitab, 5 Why's, Process Map, PFMEA, Control Plan and PPAP are preferred

  • Ability to travel up 25% of the time when direct
