IBM i Developer

job summary:

One of our Austin clients is looking to add an IBM i Developer to their growing team

location: Austin, Texas

job type: Contract

salary: $55 - 65 per hour

work hours: 8am to 5pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

Develops programming code for new and/or existing software.

Troubleshoots and debugs existing code.

Tests code and fixes to ensure quality.

Planning, developing, and managing the software development or major enhancements to existing software.

Learns the system architecture and is involved in providing software updates and support to our customers.

Provides programming support for various interfaces.

Assists in keeping customers informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes; may assist the customer in determining if and how system enhancements may improve process flow and business function.

Creates all internal programming documentation; may include defining the system and functional requirements of the product.

Serves on projects as a subject matter expert for the iSeries platform.

Serves in an on call rotation, providing systems support for nightly batch processing.

Work within in a controlled environment that enforces segregation of duties, and maintains SOX and SOC2 compliance.

qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years analysis and programming on the IBM i platform using RPG, RPGILE, RPGIV, RPG Free, CL, DDS, Stored procedures

Embedded SQL experience preferred

Knowledge of the financial industry strongly preferred

SoftLanding Turnover experience strongly preferred

Knowledge of ROBOT-Job Scheduler preferred

IBM i operations and systems administration experience a plus
