Payroll Specialist

job summary:

This position will fill in for a Payroll Specialist within a growing telecom company on the Eastside. This role will be responsible for processing multi-state payroll and keep the payroll records up to date.

Requirements:

  • Responsible for payroll processing across all entities.

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

  • Review labor hours and human resource data submitted for accuracy.

  • Input garnishments, levies, and other payroll-related deductions.

  • Process special payrolls as requested (e.g. termination check requests, etc.).

  • Process severance payments in accordance with individual's severance agreements.

  • Issue replacement checks and obtain appropriate approvals and signatures as necessary.

  • Prepare verifications and respond to other inquiries regarding employee wages, including, but not limited to, Worker's Compensation, Department of Revenue, and Department of Child Services.

  • Review federal, state and local tax calculations, as necessary for stock award reclasses.

  • Review and make any necessary changes/additions to W-2s.

  • Provide the highest quality of customer service to both internal (employees) and external clients.

  • Other special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School degree

  • Associate's or bachelor's in accounting or another related field is beneficial

  • 3 - 5+ years of payroll experience
