Lab Technician

salary: $20.00 - 24.43 per hour

work hours: 9 to 5

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

  • Prepare buffers, solutions, and media with strict adherence to established procedures

  • Operate and maintain balances, pH meters, stir plates, filtration equipment, and autoclaves

  • Inventory and replenish numerous laboratory stock locations

  • Maintain accurate production documents, lab records, and log books

  • Maintain equipment and arrange for repair

  • Help manage Cell Culture operations including maintenance

  • Maintain supplies and general organization of Lab Operations' facilities

  • Provide coverage to the Chemical Inventory group

  • Coordinate service offerings with outside vendors

  • Monitor vendor performance

  • Provide assistance in Cell Culture, Glasswash, and other Lab Operations services as needed

  • Actively participate in marketing Lab Operations' services to the R&D community

qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or AA in biology or chemistry or a minimum of 6 months relevant work experience required

  • Experience in a biotech I pharmaceutical company a plus

  • Strong initiative and possess the ability to work efficiently within time constraints

  • Meticulous & able to work with minimal supervision

  • Possess good oral and written communication skills

  • Possess excellent people skills and a proven record as a team player is also essential

  • Proficiency with MS Office
