The SQL Developer is responsible for providing operational and project support for the application infrastructure.

Duties:
Participates in project work providing support to project teams, with the ability to lead large efforts.
Utilize industry best practices, champion its adoption, and provides direction/ leadership to the Enterprise Business and Applications Services group while working through appropriate channels/processes.
Maintains and builds positive relationships within the BTS Team and with members of other County Agencies and Vendors.
Supports and ensures compliance with the BTS S olution D evelopment L ife C ycle (SDLC) process.
Provides technical mentoring as needed to ensure that single points of failure are eliminated.
Stays on the cutting edge of relevant technology by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes organizational goals by taking ownership of assignments and driving issues to a successful close, even when accountability for those issues crosses organizational boundaries.
Contribute strongly, under the guidance of the Lead SQL developer, towards upgrades.
Writes complex queries to update and insert into SQL tables.
Creates stored procedures.
Writes queries that produce XML data; write queries that select values and attributes from XML data.
Maintains 24x7 availability and be willing to provide after-hours support as needed.
qualifications:
Qualifications:
BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred
7+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required
skills: Key Skills:
Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for SQL Server
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
Experience with SQL Server on VMware vSphere with vSphere HA or vSphere FT
Experience with SQL Server in AWS or Azure environment.
MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus
Experience with Idera Tools a plus.
Experience with server scripting tools such as PowerShell or equivalent a plus.
Technical documentation skills
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative
