Contract position: Client that designs & constructs gas processing plants & refineries is looking for an I&E (instrumentation & electrical) Construction Supervisor for a project assignment in the Houston, TX area. You need 15+ years of related experience supporting large, heavy industrial plant (process, power, etc...) EPC projects. Our client is looking for candidates that are local to Houston.

Responsibilities for the Supervisor

  • Provide on-site administrative & technical management of all I&E construction activities on a heavy industrial plant construction project

  • Work with I&E Subcontractors daily to ensure that the project is constructed & documented in accordance with the project specifications, policies, detailed drawings & industry standards

  • Review & verify that company Site Instrumentation and Electrical sub-contractors are in compliance with the 'Approved' Quality program

  • Assure that sub-contractor is adhering to scope of work and direction from company Electrical Coordinator

  • Ensure equipment and in-process installations comply with National Electric Code, company & client specifications, drawings and tolerances while maintaining a high level of quality, fitment and finish

  • Assure that scheduled megger and similar testing with all documentation is performed in accordance with company & Client standards and specifications

  • Oversees and evaluates earned value progress tracking for E&I scopes

Requirements for the Supervisor

  • 15+ years of I&E construction experience on heavy industrial plant EPC projects

  • Previous experience supervising instrumentation and electrical craft employees and/or other I&E contractors

  • Solid understanding of I&E equipment & systems used to build refineries, gas plants and similar heavy industrial facilities

  • You need to be able to read and interpret documents (one-line, instrument and cable schedules, loop drawings, etc.)

  • Any specific I&E construction experience supporting gas processing (natural gas, ethane recovery, sulfur, hydrocarbon, nitrogen rejection, gas treating, etc...) or refinery EPC projects is a PLUS

  • Working knowledge and understanding of NEC Code

  • Training in the reading of schematics, P & I. D.'s and blue-print drawings

  • Understanding of Industrial Electrical Safety procedures

  • Currently have or ability to obtain a TWIC card and additional safety training
