The Junior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer will interface with NOC Teammates and assist with isolation under their guidance. This will allow the senior members to mentor and train these subordinates assisting isolation of incidents and problems here at Baptist health. Network operations center (NOC) engineers are in charge of providing engineering support for network connectivity issues, as well as working as a liaison for carriers and other information technology (IT) technicians in Baptist Health Their work includes isolating issues within multiple disciplines, assessing failure within those disciplines based on monitors and activities of the various team engineers. They should be able to select the most appropriate isolation methods reducing the impact on our teammates and patients. The Junior NOC Engineer will need to work with the Problem Manager providing up-to-date information that will allow them to provide upper management IS and Hospital with the required status allowing better communications to those members. They assist other Network Operations Center NOC Team members in order to reduce customer exposure due to outages. They are responsible for solving and preventing data outages with wired and wireless system connection hardware. In addition, they communicate with the help desk, and other on-site system professionals to provide issue resolution in a prompt manner. The Junior NOC Engineer will also be providing input for the Runbooks and monitors that will be used as a base line seen as a standard within the operating systems. They should have basic knowledge in each of these key technologies, Windows Servers, Network, Storage, VMware, AIX, UNIX or AS400.
Junior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer
Perform all Operational tasks with Expert Skill. Working knowledge of Enterprise technology, and associated Critical Applications and their components.
Ability to troubleshoot all escalated tickets, and effective at isolation and triage.
Working Knowledge of the 7 layer OSI model, and ITIL framework.
Ability to perform some network hardware maintenance tasks, UPS replacements; hardware upgrades, cabling, basic configuration, port activations, basic network troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Enterprise infrastructure technologies being used: Network, Desktop, Server, Web, Database, AIX, IBM I
Ability to work with Opnet ARX, and Capture manager to setup a Capture agent and capture a Network trace.
Ability to facilitate monitoring and alerting of the Baptist Health infrastructure through a functional knowledge of SNMP, WMI, ICMP. Working knowledge of solarwinds, and the ability to add/remove nodes, configure and validate proper alerting.
Working knowledge of Business Critical Infrastructure Applications: Windows Desktop software, Windows Server software, RDP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Citrix Xenapp, Citrix Xendesktop, Citrix Netscaler, Vmware, Imprivata, Dameware, Liveaction
Working knowledge of Mission Critical Enterprise Applications: Cerner PowerChart, Surginet, Firtnet, GE Allscripts, Centricity, Rightfax
Toolset familiarity requirements: Level of proficiency associated with Level of position.

skills: A bachelor's degree in computer science is preferred but in addition, previous experience with networking administration and protocols, as well as additional industry certifications, are seen as comparable requirements. They must have working experience with system repair, engineering tasks, and other troubleshooting activities. They should have advanced organization skills, which are used to keep accurate inventory for computer replacement parts.
