Electrical Engineer

Contract position: An Electrical Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Kalamazoo, MI area. This role is responsible designing pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities as part of a small projects team located onsite. No per diem available. Resource is expected on site full-time Monday - Friday and any personal travel will need to occur outside of work hours.

Responsibilities for the Electrical Engineer

  • Work with the Advanced Facilities team, to perform engineering and design tasks to produce construction documents, help manage scope, budget and schedule to meet project goals, coordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural engineering to process and develop designs, analyze and design complex building systems.

  • Design medium and low voltage power systems; lighting, grounding, and process heating systems; standby generator and UPS systems for critical power needs.

  • May assist senior engineers in site selection and design activities, perform field activities such as observation of construction activities, review construction submittals for conformance with the intent of contract and design documents.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior electrical engineers and designers on a project-by-project basis.

Requirements for the Electrical Engineer

  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering required. Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering design of building electrical systems.

  • Microstation experience preferred.

  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) Professional Engineering License or path to obtain within two years of hire.
