Production Planner/Scheduler

Responsible for the timely release of various manufacturing documents to generate material demand, and manpower and work center requirements. Work with other departments to ensure both technical and customer requirements are being accurately captured, communicated and executed in production.

The Production Planner/Scheduler will assist with the planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle. Will also coordinate the movement of materials through production with materials planning, procurement and supply chain staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Timely release of manufacturing documentation that provides instruction required to manufacture our products of the various shop functions. Documents include work order routers,material cut sheets, drawings and bill of materials, burnout templates, and other miscellaneous items.

  • Proactively identify potential production problems, develop solutions and implement them to resolve or prevent a problem.

  • Work with Purchasing to evaluate and consider make/buy decisions.

  • Work with Engineering to capture any released drawing revisions in both production and development programs and make any necessary changes to the Master BOM and any active Work Orders as directed.

  • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service to ensure specific customer requirements are accurately captured on Work Orders and communicated and executed by the production team.

  • Responsible for developing the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory.

  • Responsible for providing the plant with a monthly production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast.

  • Responsible for determining the desired inventory levels for finished goods, including safety stock levels.

  • The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans, by month, for a rolling three-month period.

  • Strong collaboration with the Finance, Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.

  • Create a rolling 3-month Master Production Plan for designated products.

  • Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the Master Production Plan, including manufacturing lead times.

  • Perform supply - demand analysis each quarter, highlighting areas of concern.

  • Make delivery commitments on products, which involve checking uncommitted material and availability of capacity.

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Skills:

  • Excellent oral communication skills

  • Ability to read and interpret structural and mechanical drawings

  • Organizational and planning skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures for planning functions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications- Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in multi-level Planning/Scheduling that supports high mix low volume manufacturing

  • Prior experience in a Manufacturing/Production environment

  • Familiarity with machining, and assembly practices.

  • Experience with using industry standard manufacturing ERP systems; Profit Key preferred but not required
