Cost Accountant

job summary:

A privately owned, industry leading Manufacturing Company has a need for a Cost Accountant. The focus of this position will be to assist with both general accounting and cost accounting activities. The company offers room for advancement and is very family-oriented and employee-centric!

Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is an absolute requirement.

  • Month/quarter-end close, including journal entries and reporting

  • Assist with development of annual budget and quarterly forecasts including the review of manufacturing inputs.

  • Prepare manufacturing and waste reports; including KPI's

  • Develop annual standard labor and OH rates

  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials, routings, and product costs

  • Perform variance analysis related to PPV, cost variances, production order variances, rework, etc.

  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation

  • Assist with developing and implementing accounting procedures

  • Perform ad-hoc costing and operations accounting analysis and cost modelling as needed

  • Work directly with manufacturing team at the facility providing financial support


  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

  • At least 7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Prior ERP experience, SAP experience a strong plus

  • Ability to prepare and present reports

  • Excellent Excel skills

Compensation : $80-85K, 10% bonus potential, strong benefit plan
