Employment Counselor

Randstad is currently interviewing candidates for a lead service coordinator role. We are looking to fill 8 spots and 2 of them the candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Ideal candidate will have worked with clients to help place them in employment and also candidates who have developed relationships with employers, outreached to employers to place candidates or understand their needs.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Counselor is responsible for supporting the program goals of moving program participants into employment and career advancement through training and job search services. The Lead Counselor is also responsible for responding to escalated customer issues and assist customers in the resolution of all complaints. The Lead Counselor models best practices and provides support to Counselors with their day to day duties. In addition to working with participants, Lead Counselor will manage certain aspects of the Advance program (i.e. training, CVS, and/or reporting, etc.)Essential Job Duties: Assist customers in a multiple phases of the case management process, ranging from enrollment through job placement, job retention, and career advancement services Knowledgeable about job opportunities that match customers skill and educational levels Comfortable working in an environment that is goal driven with monthly outcomes Work with customers to provide information on how to access government-sponsored programs and receive program services Interact with program participants on a regular, daily basis either in person or via mail Educate customers on program services and eligibility requirements Work with customers to meet and achieve program goals and maintain program services and eligibility Assist customers with acquiring services that facilitate program goals (e.g., job referrals, job matching, educational and/or vocational training, medical, child care, transportation, substance abuse/mental health, child support establishment, legal, and other related needs) Follow-up with customers to ensure that their needs are met and questions and concerns are resolved Serve in a lead capacity as needed by coordinating and directing the work of lower level staff, mentoring and advising lower level staff, and handling complex or escalated issues

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

*Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products

Bachelors

Qualifications:

*High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited University or College in human services or related

field preferred

*At least two years of staffing and/or recruiting experience required

*Must be able to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment

with continuous change, as a team member and independently.

  • A passion, energy, and drive to help individuals find a career that can change the course

of their lives

  • Best practices in getting people hired through employer contacts, resume writing, skill

development

  • Experience in working with individuals with ex-offender status or participants with

barriers to obtaining employment.

  • Demonstrate initiative, independent judgment, discretion and decision making and

effective motivational skills.

  • Demonstrate intermediate level knowledge and experience with personal computer and

related software applications to include MS Office, PowerPoint and the Internet.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, listening and verbal communication

skills.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time

  • Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds

  • Work is constantly performed in an officeenvironment
