General Ledger Accountant

job summary:

Successful and innovative medial, consumer products company is looking to add on a General Ledger Accountant. Newly created role, reports to the Assistant Controller supporting day to day accounting and month end close process.

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing

  • Month-end General Ledger Account analysis & support

  • Balance sheet accounts reconciliations

  • Consolidation, inter-company transactions and reconciliations

  • Monthly balance sheet and P & L Fluctuation Analysis

  • Monthly expense variance analysis

  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies

  • Property, Sales and Use tax, Excise and Franchise tax returns preparation and support

  • Interface with management in various departments, including sales, marketing, operations and legal.

Requirements:

BS degree

CPA a plus

5+ years of related experience
