Process Engineer

Permanent position: Our client in Oxnard has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer. To be successful in this role one must be very energetic, and a self-starter and be very knowledgeable with the development and design processes. The ideal candidate must be able to drive process improvements working with various team members. This company is a leader in the cosmetic industry and introduces an extremely high amount of new products weekly. In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must be able to drive initiative and complete projects under tight deadlines. Due to the extremely high volume, they looking to add 2 process engineers to their team!

Responsibilities for the Process Engineer

  • Research, design and develop plans for integration of new manufacturing equipment into manufacturing facility and processes to achieve business objectives

  • Provide support to the production team and answer engineering related questions regarding functionality and capabilities

  • Establish and improve manufacturing processes by applying engineering and mechanical knowledge to equipment design and function to reduce defects and variability

  • Help transition the formulations to the pilot plant and full-scale manufacturing, including support during plant trials and start of production

Requirements for the Process Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

  • Excellent project management skills - ability to manage tight timelines and meet deadlines, and capable of working within a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects

  • Candidate must be able to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, select and implement the best alternative and communicate the logic behind the decision

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques. (Kaizen knowledge is a plus)
