Create Sales Registers, manual or computer generated (show sell price if quoted).
When Sales Register is for all stock merchandise, send it to the warehouse.
When Sales Register is part non-stock merchandise, write or enter Purchase Order for non-stock items. Send Sales Register to the warehouse and the Purchase Order to Accounts Payable. Insert vendor and order number in "Ordered From P/O. No." block on the Sales Register.
When Sales Register is all non-stock merchandise, write or enter Purchase Order and send both Sales Register and Purchase Order (attached with paper clip) to Accounts Payable.
When the merchandise is being shipped direct (either stock or non stock), put sell price on Sales Register, write or enter Purchase Order, staple Purchase Order to Sales Register and send both to Accounts Payable.
When customer requests permission to return merchandise, get authorization from the Profit Center Manager, or delegate, and write Credit Memo. Send the two Return Material Memo copies to the customer. Send balance to Inventory Controller to be filed in Pending Credit File.
Receive order from customer and create Sales Register, manual or computer generated. When sell price is quoted (different from normal pricing structure), enter price on Sales Register.
Create Purchase Order for non-stock merchandise or merchandise being shipped directly to the customer. Enter the net cost on the Purchase Order when it is placed. Enter the sell price on the Sales Register.
Write Credit Memo when customer requests permission to return merchandise and PC Manager or delegate gives approval.
Complete Job Information Reports and billing to job accounts.
File records in the appropriate files, such as:
Back Order and Special Order Files
Open Purchase Order Tub
Direct Order Tub
Closed Purchase Order File
Research Credit Memos
Prepare outgoing mail
Sales Register and Cash Sale Receipt accountability
Sales problem resolution.
Control record retention
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
--Handle incoming customer requests, sales, and ordering.
--Handle incoming counter calls.
--Generate Purchase Orders on material for customers.
--Pursue prices from vendors, match specifications to jobs, present bids to contractors, and close deals.
Possess extensive knowledge of electrical products and their functions.
Ability to research Credit Memos.
Ability to operate ten-key calculator.
Ability to open mail and prepare outgoing mail.
Ability to photocopy.
Math skills that include calculating percentages, decimals (.1, .01, .001) and discount multipliers.
Ability to answer telephones and provide courteous, prompt and efficient service to customers.
Ability to send and receive faxes.
Possess a basic knowledge of computers and Internet (vendor websites).
Possess filing skills, both alphabetically and numerically.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform basic computer skills to track and facilitate vendor price checking, rebates and quotations.
Ability to comprehend, read, and to communicate the English language orally and in writing.
Capacity to multi task, to be organized and consistent.
Understanding of customer needs and expectations.
Capabilities to ask questions, understand the application, and offer materials that fulfill those requirements.
Ability to up sell cost effective alternative materials.
Receive and forward customer and vendor feedback while making suggestions for improvement.
