Packer Inspector

Well known packaging company located in Hayward. This company specializes in consumer packaging, industrial products, protective solutions and display and packaging services. This is full time Temp to Hire position working in a Union environment. This Company is looking for people who are self motivated & demonstrate a sense of urgency.

Training will be approx. 3-4 months and can be on either 1st shift or 2nd shift. 1st shift hours 6am-2:30pm and 2nd shift Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm. However, due to seniority if considered to be hired on permanently the shift you would be switched to is 2nd shift. The pay rate is $15.00 for day shift and $15.28 for Swing shift Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work flexible hours. Working hours may vary between 32-40 per week.

Responsibilities:

Essential functions of position include, but are not limited to the following.

Duties include:

Collaborates closely with other departments and teams

Ability to work at a fast pace

Hand packing a wide variety of products and materials

Removing product from the line and visually inspecting to assure quality standards

Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.

Perform all duties as designated by supervisor/manager.

Perform all duties in support quality and safety policies.

Helping out other departments as needed

Physical requirements include: push, pull, lift, bend, stoop, grasp, on a regular basis and carry up to 50 lbs. Required to work safely and follow all safety rules. Perform all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of quality and safety. Steel toe shoes and other required PPE.

Working hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Skills:

Ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds max. on an occasional basis.

Ability to frequently bend, stand, stoop, and grasp.

Ability to manipulate small parts on a consistent basis.
