Compliance Associate

job summary:

  • The individual in this role provides tactical execution of a variety of tasks and processes related to CPE and CPA Licensing compliance.

  • This role also provides first level oversight and management of the work performed by the offshore vendor, including quality review and resolution of issues.

  • The right candidate will have strong organizational, analytical and technical skills and be able to work productively in an environment with evolving deadlines and priorities.

Key job responsibilities are to:

  • Review work of offshore vendor for quality, accuracy and completeness and act as first level escalation for issues and questions arising from the work being performed by that team.

  • Provide guidance and direction to the vendor as needed, researching solutions and resolution to problems encountered

  • Execute scheduled transactions and processes that cannot be completed by the offshore vendor (for example, due to complexity) and draft, schedule and/or send daily/monthly emails & notices

  • Assist with management of email boxes and correspondence including the timely generation of responses to questions from partners and staff

  • Provide first level escalation for resolution of matters by researching questions, developing responses for partners and staff

  • Execute individual compliance monitoring and follow up through proactive outreach to partners and staff, working with them on their CPE and CPA Licensing issues and questions

  • Assist with compilation of documentation for state audit requests for CPAs

  • Prepare data needed for compliance report generation and research requests

  • Complete special projects

Qualifications:

Ability to balance and manage multiple deliverables with variable timelines.

Ability to work under tight timeframes.

Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (intermediate/advanced).

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, orally and in writing.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong research and analytical skills.

Legal experience preferred.
