Production Planner

The Production Planner coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; inventory levels, and solving production problems.


Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectations

Analyze and prepare documents needed for production

Develop production planning by creating production schedule and prioritizes job-orders for production optimization

Maintains the production schedule and other reports as required

Expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation

Complete status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory

Manage RAW Material Availability

Interact with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information as requested from Manufacturing, Customer Service and Accounting

Advise on overtime requirements

Maintain the cycle count process for in process work

Maintain component inventory and ensure Inventory Control Processes are followed

Manage Inventory between Cells (WIP)

Utilize PLEX for Materials Resource Planning

Compose reports based on inventory data from the MRP/ERP system to analyze cycle count requirements

Maintain smooth production operations requirements based on labor demand by working closely with Production Supervisors, Materials Planners, and Temporary Workforce Vendor

Analyze the schedule for subsequent operations based on customer demand

Plan production outputs based on the demand

Identify process and product improvements that improve production efficiencies

Model cooperation and teamwork

Ensure a safe working environment

Police PPE procedures

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


Bachelors degree in Business Management or Supply Management or equivalent work experience preferred

Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Three years of experience of MRP system experience (PLEX experience is a plus)

APICS certification a plus






Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products; intermediate to advanced level in Excel

Strong organizational and communication skills

Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines

Good customer service/phone skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities

Demonstrate personal time management skills

An understanding of Lean Manufacturing desired (Toyota Production System)

Set the example by actively contributing to department and company goals

Take initiative and seek additional training or direction as needed

Ensure accuracy of data communicated to operations teams

Build quality into work

Ensure processes are consistent with quality objectives

Analyze current quality levels versus target levels

Develop and achieve departmental/company goals and controls

Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality and productivity
